Litigation (Trial) Paralegal Responsibilities: Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery. Indexing, tracking, and controlling case-related materials. Reviewing documents for relevance and inclusion in the case files. Summarizing depositions and other transcripts. Assisting with the preparation of court filings, including cite and fact-checking legal briefs, cross-reference checks, confirming proper Bluebook citation, proofreading, and assembling of exhibits and appendices. Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria. Tracking and controlling document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery). Indexing, tracking, and controlling exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial. Coordinating trial set-up and logistics as well as serving as a liaison among various internal departments as well as with outside vendors, such as translation services, document production vendors and trial graphics providers. Working closely and directly with attorneys and clients during all phases of litigation. Additional responsibilities include supporting attorneys during the trial, including assistance with the creation of demonstratives and courtroom presentation/support. Qualifications: BA or BS degree preferred. Associate's degree or paralegal certificate with 5 years of comparable work experience is required. Ability to multitask using analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment with competing demands. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate flexibility regarding client and legal team requests. Achieve a high level of productivity. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Assisting counsel during preparations for attendance at mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials. Other litigation support activities include electronic filing. Other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate preferred; 5-7 years of experience as a paralegal. Familiarity with Excel, Word, and Outlook is required. Should have experience with litigation support applications (Relativity, Ringtail, Summation, Concordance, Case Map, Text Map, Time Map, Trial Director, etc.). Complete working knowledge of Federal and Pennsylvania (particularly Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas) state procedures and appellate rules and procedures as well as local Court rules and corresponding web-based platforms (e.g. PACER, PHILADELPHIA E-COURTS, FEDERAL BANKRUPTCY COURT, CM/ECF, etc.). Trial support and presentation experience is a plus. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
