Business Immigration Paralegal The candidate will work with the founder attorney in the firm s immigration practice, which handles a full range of immigration services including family, employment, and investment immigration in addition to removal proceedings and criminal immigration issues, naturalization and citizenship issues, matters related to permanent residency status, and asylum based on political or religious grounds. Draft, review and file various petitions and gather facts and documentation in support of petitions. Review files for status and maintain/organize client matters and calendars. Draft correspondence regarding procedural matters, status updates, and letters in support of petitions. Draft legal briefs and memos. Interact with government agencies, including the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Service. Perform legal research. Draft, review and file various petitions and gather facts and documentation in support of petitions. Review files for status and maintain/organize client matters and calendars. Draft correspondence regarding procedural matters, status updates, and letters in support of petitions. Draft legal briefs and memos. Interact with government agencies, including the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Service. Perform legal research. A Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program or equivalent experience required. Should have 2 years experience specifically in business immigration, including extensive experience in non-immigrant and immigrant visas (such as H-1B, TN, L-1A and L-1B, O-1, E-1, E-2, and E-3) and PERM applications. Should have 4 years of experience in an "Immigration" Paralegal role. Should have knowledge of immigration procedures and processes. Must have strong knowledge of MS Office. Should have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must have strong proofreading skills and the ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy. Supervise case handlers in preparing petitions/applications, and effectively manage complex projects under tight deadlines. Must possess a J.D.
