Legal Secretary - Business and Corporate Duties: Performs full secretarial and administrative duties for business attorneys. Word processing of drafts, revisions and final documents for client-related matters, including correspondence, memoranda, bills, timesheets and project work, as needed. Monitors client files and deadlines in App Coll and PAIR preferred. Preparation and filing of assignment recordation on-line with the USPTO preferred. Copies, distributes, sends (electronically and/or via mail, courier or express service), files and otherwise handles completed work preferred. Coordinates and registers attorneys for CLE and maintains applicable attorney records. Maintains physical and electronic files, contacts, and maintains dockets of cases for attorneys. Coordinates meetings and appointments. Handles incoming and outgoing mail and filing. The candidate will have 3+ years of legal secretary experience. Candidate must have a great attitude, will be a team player, have a proactive work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, will be proficient in proof-reading and data entry, detail oriented and have the ability to work well under pressure. should be familiar with a broad range of transactional practices, ideally with some background in intellectual property (though willing to train on this). Knowledge of general office procedures. Ideally, the candidate would have familiarity with legal terminology related to Intellectual Property (IP) or be willing to learn. Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys is required. Advanced word processing/computer skills utilizing a variety of software programs including, but not limited to, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Adobe and Fileshare.
