Get affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court. Help lawyers during trials by handling exhibits, taking notes, or reviewing trial transcripts. File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel. Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions. Qualifications: High school diploma (AA, B.A. and/or Paralegal Studies Certificate preferred); 5+ years of legal experience working with senior partner in a law firm environment. Ability to read, listen, communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system; Proficiency in state and federal court rules of Civil Procedure and local court rules; Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision; Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines; Have excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task Have hands-on computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook Email applications.
