The successful candidate will provide a wide range of legal support to the supervising attorney(s) and must be able to effectively manage a high volume of work. **Job Responsibilities:** - Maintaining files and conducting legal research - Drafting documents and communicating with clients and other parties involved in the cases - Having knowledge of best law firm practices and the legal field - Being proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint - Having e-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions - Having knowledge of legal documents and terminology - Having knowledge of billing - Having knowledge of investigating the facts of a case - Conducting research on relevant laws, regulations and articles - Organizing and maintaining documents in the physical file and in the firm's document Management software - Gathering, maintaining current and arranging evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation - Writing reports to help attorneys prepare for trial - Obtaining affidavits and other formal documents/statements that may be used as evidence in court - Assisting lawyers during trials by handlings exhibits, taking notes or reviewing trial transcripts - Filing exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents (after lawyer has reviewed and approved) 3 to 5 years of experience as a civil litigation and trial paralegal.
