Family Law Associate Attorney Candidate will assist with complex divorce, child custody, and other family law matters. Will work closely with and report directly to the firm s Senior Partner. Will involve the following types of work: Legal Drafting: Preparing drafts of pleadings, court orders, and other documents for review by the Senior Partner. Assisting in the development of discovery plans on cases and drafting Interrogatories, Request for Production, Requests for Admission, Subpoenas, etc. to obtain the desired information. Conducting legal research and drafting briefs and legal memoranda, as needed. Reviewing incoming case documents and creating summaries for review by the Senior Partner and other team members. Documents to be reviewed include financial records, tax returns, business documents, healthcare and educational records, etc. Helping prepare for depositions by researching relevant issues, developing outlines of questions for witnesses, and preparing associated documents and exhibits. Working closely with the Senior Partner and other team members to ensure that all necessary information is obtained, prepared, reviewed, and organized for court appearances (motion hearings, trials, etc.). This will include ensuring all necessary affidavits, financial exhibits, evidence/exhibits, etc. are prepared with specificity, organized in such a way to make a compelling presentation to the court, and summarized for the Senior Partner s easy review in preparation for hearings. Qualifications: Must be admitted to practice in South Carolina. 2+ years experience in family law litigation is preferred. Must be able to take direction, learn quickly, work independently on projects, meet deadlines, and produce excellent quality work. Meticulous research capabilities, critical thinking, top-notch writing skills, and first-rate academic credentials are required. Must be computer literate and tech savvy, attuned to the importance of organization and visual presentation of information, and be proficient with paperless systems. Litigation Paralegal

Litigation Paralegal Duties: Draft correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents. Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and experts. Review and summarize depositions and other discovery materials. Trial preparation, including electronic presentations. Assist attorneys at trial with electronic presentations, coordinating witnesses and managing trial exhibits. Manage electronic databases associated with e-discovery. Assist with document productions. Internet research. Cite check and shepardize briefs. Electronic filings. Manage attorneys calendars and assist in meeting deadlines. Docket court filing deadlines and scheduling orders. Maintain attorneys time entry for billing purposes. Coordinate attorneys and/or clients travel arrangements including scheduling flights, ground transportation, overnight accommodations, preparing directions, and confirming travel schedules. Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, transcribing dictation, composing and typing routine correspondence, scanning and converting various documents, and reading and routing incoming mail. Answer a multi-line telephone system, determine the purpose of calls, and transfer callers to appropriate personnel. Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Assist in the review and issuance of client invoices. Maintain and organize new and existing client files. Manage and organize attorneys contacts in database. Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents. Prepare closed case files for off-site storage. Requirements: Paralegal certificate and/or college degree. 3-5 years of litigation experience. Large case management and trial experience a plus. Experience with Relativity and other eDiscovery software a plus. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with trial presentation software a plus. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and accommodate rush requests. Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills. Must be a team player, willing to help other team members during peak times. Proficiency in Federal and/or State electronic filing. Experience using a legal time and billing system.
