Litigation Paralegal Duties: Organization of documents and coordination of document productions. Pull relevant documents, proofread papers, organize exhibits and create document indices in the preparation of motion filing. Work with attorneys in the preparation and filing of all court documents. Create, bind and distribute both file and courtesy copies. Organize the briefs, exhibits and appendices. Organize exhibits, files and all other supporting documents, coordinate trial set-up and logistics, assist attorneys in the courtroom by taking notes, handling exhibits, and marking documents referred to by counsel, assist in the preparation of witness testimony and serve as liaison between trial attorneys and in-house staff. This could include, bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents. Set up and maintain files which are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter. Under the guidance of an attorney, categorize documents by subject matter, prepare a chronology of facts and create production charts. Conducting document searches and factual research. Qualifications: 3-5 years of product liability experience (preferably in the automotive industry), self-motivation, strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to assist in the management of a complex caseload while being an effective team player. Commitment to work overtime as needed, which maybe be heavy at times, and may include weekends or holidays with potential to be for extended periods of time. Requirements: A college graduate with a strong interest in the legal profession and litigation law with the ability to commit to the position for 2+ years. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary with the ability to interact professionally with staff, attorneys, paralegals, clients and vendors. Must be able to work independently as well as with a team, have an acute attention to detail and be able to multi-task and prioritize while working in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment.
