Manager of Attorney Talent - Litigation and Intellectual Property Practice Groups, Americas Duties: Manage the feedback and review (Pathways) processes for associates and counsel. Work with and coach partners, counsel, and associates on the skills to actively participate in the feedback and review process. Manage the career counseling program for associates and counsel, including open placement of the firm s lawyers with opportunities, both internally and externally, and the attorney outplacement programs. Support partners in resource planning and in building high performing, diverse teams. Assist with staffing solutions for associates and counsel to ensure appropriate legal and professional skill development. Review utilization to ensure associates within the Practice Groups are fully utilized and flag potential issues for the Director of Attorney Talent, Practice Group Administration, and the PALs as applicable With the Associate Recruitment Department, manage the on-boarding process for new attorneys in focusing on lateral integration. Manage the mentoring program. Manage the exit process and conduct exit interviews of all attorneys and report on results and trends to the Director of Attorney Talent Americas. Assist with the year-end compensation process. Work with People team, the PALs, and the Office Managing Partners to plan events to maintain and build morale and increase associate engagement and satisfaction. Collaborate with the People team and members of other Business Services departments to suggest initiatives designed to enhance the day-to-day work environment of our attorneys. All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in Global Citizenship program. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor degree strongly preferred. 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in the area of attorney professional development, preferably in a large law firm environment or professional services environment is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer proficient with knowledge and understanding of various database systems including Microsoft Office Suite programs. Ability to learn, utilize, and implement specialized attorney development-related technological databases in order to streamline the attorney development process. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with diplomacy, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, staff, and outside contacts. Exhibits a high degree of initiative, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work independently. Senior Litigation Paralegal (ITC/IP Focus) Duties: Perform all elements of litigation case management, including file management, case calendaring, discovery, and trial activities. Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys; conduct legal research under a ttorney supervision. Provide formal and/or informal guidance and training to more junior paralegals regarding firm and litigation procedures and best practices. Create and maintain effective working relationships with others to facilitate a positive and pr oductive work environment. Continuously refine, develop, and expand skills in anticipation of changes in the work environment or profession. Adhere to Firm policies, practices, and priorities. Perform other duties as requested by Firm management. Qualifications: BS/BA from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred. Paralegal certificate preferred. An experienced, career track Litigation Paralegal with substantial work experience in AmLaw 100 firms or specialized boutique law firms who will contribute as lead paralegal on large, complex cases and provide instruction and informal mentorship to junior paralegals at the Firm. 5+ years work experience as a Litigation P aralegal in an Amlaw 100 firm or a specialized litigation practice firm. Experience with all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial. Experience with Section 337 investigations conducted by the U.S. International Trade Commission a plus. Experience preparing for and attending trials , arbitrations, and hearings. Experience coordinating trial/arbitration logistics, including negotiating for work space, setting- up remote office space, and coordinating with vendors. Experience developing and maintaining processes to collect, store, and maintain paper and electronic case files. Strong sense of accountability and attention to detail. Ability to convey information to indivi duals at all levels within the Firm in a courteous and professional manner ; strong service orientation. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects with changing priorities. Ability to work equally well as part of a team in both a leadership and subordinate role. Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure with continually changing priorities; ability to integrate special assignments or projects into workflow. Excellent judgment demonstrated by the ability to make appropriate decisions in high pressure situations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communications that are clear and concise, use proper grammar, and appropriate vocabulary. Experience with court and administrative agency filings, including electronic or e-filings. Familiarity with USITC Electronic Document Information System (EDIS) preferred. Experience using e discovery databases (e.g. Concordance, Relativity, Ringtail) . Experience using litigation support software for managing files and transcript s preferred (e.g. LiveNote, CaseMap, COVinteractive, etc.).
