Compiles information concerning issues identified by attorneys and prepare documentation or statistics, charts, graphs, databases and other metrics as appropriate which clearly detail the findings. Interacts with clients and outside vendors, expert witnesses and other law firms to gather and share information or data. Works with client and attorneys to gather, track, analyze and produce responsive documents. Creates and maintains case files and assists with team calendars and scheduling tasks. Conducts cite checking. Manages and utilizes automated litigation support tools including MS Office software, Westlaw, and Lexis. Perform factual research to identify issues and relevant matters, including confirming facts and legal authority and preparing compilations of findings. Review and draft routine legal documents. Work in conjunction with other paralegals, secretaries, and other staff to bring projects to completion. Electric filing of documents with various courts, including District of Columbia and New York Supreme Court, District of Columbia and New York Federal Courts and District of Columbia and New York Appellate Courts. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in professional services or law firm environment. A Bachelors Degree is required while a Paralegal Certificate is highly preferred. Self-starter who understands the details within a much larger context is necessary. Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks is required. Must be highly organized and comfortable in deadline intensive, fast-paced environment. Keen attention to detail is essential with follow-up and follows through. Excellent writing/proofing/editing skills are required.
