Claims Recovery Paralegal Duties: Researches publicly available information (company websites, financial statements, other web-based research); compiles, summarizes and reports findings. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree. 2 years of increasingly responsible, directly related legal or administrative experience, during which the knowledge, skills and abilities relevant to the position were demonstrated. A minimum billing requirement of 1600 hours/year. Ability to apply technical knowledge or guidance, analyze and interpret data from several sources, solve problems by applying precedent or extrapolating from previous experience. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts, regarding matters of a routine nature requiring ordinary tact and courtesy. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment, including delegation as appropriate, to meet deadlines and daily requirements. Under the supervision of an attorney, draft, edit, cite-check, conform and otherwise assist in the preparation of legal documents. Prepare binders of completed transactions. Obtain services from outside contractors, including court reporters, research services, exhibit preparation services, filing services and printers. Process billing and disbursement paperwork in connection with those services. Act as liaison for the project team with support departments and other offices of the firm, anticipating and assuming responsibility for special staffing needs, such as overtime, clerical and/or notary assistance. Monitor trade press, the Federal Register, federal agency dockets, and other news sources for issues relevant to clients of the firm. Requirements: BA/BS degree required. Strong foreign language skills desired (preferably in Chinese or Spanish). Ability to read, write and speak English. Substantive knowledge of and familiarity with specific areas of law, as required, with experience in health care and life sciences, communications, environmental, or international trade issues a plus.
