Legal Secretary (Litigation/Labor & Employment) Duties: Inputs, revises and finalizes correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents. Drafts routine correspondence, memoranda and other documents. Files legal documents in federal courts and state courts; prepares legal documents for service of process; prepares case shell documents for use by attorneys. Proofreads documents and checks for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammar. Verifies all attachments, exhibits and enclosures are included with transmittal letters/memos. Maintains good public relations with clients. Receives, reviews and prints electronic faxes. Delivers paper faxes as necessary. Sorts, dates and reads incoming mail. Prepares documents and packages for mail, messenger and overnight delivery. Completes client/matter forms. Requests conflicts of interest checks. Opens new files.
