Paralegal I Duties: Assists the Senior Paralegals and Attorneys with the management of corporate immigration cases and client interactions. Understand the procedures and documentation required for cases to be filed successfully and following service standards. Work with clients to gather the necessary information and documentation in a timely manner. Prepare forms according to information received from clients. Prepare letters and other documents on behalf of the employer/client. Finalize documents after review by Practice Manager, Team Manager and/or Attorney. Monitor the status of all filed applications and petitions. Run reports to assist in managing one s own caseload. Assisting with the review of billing protocols and ensure that billing guidelines are met. Evaluate cases and assist in providing case strategies and/or solutions to issues. Provide company contacts with training and guidance regarding systems and general immigration matters. Engage in frequent contact with company clients. Keep abreast of current regulations and procedures relating to filing applications. Works with clients to obtain documents and information necessary to prepare applications. Drafts support statements and organizes documentations for filling. Files and monitors applications and petitions with appropriate government agencies. Performs research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, stand processing times, etc. Initiates contact with government officials to obtain necessary information to alert supervising attorney of potential delays or possible problems in the processing of an application. Qualifications: Bachelor degree or Paralegal Certificate. 1+ years' corporate immigration experience required. A strong preference for prior for prior IV/PERM. EB-1 writing experience is a bonus. Ability to excel within an extremely high volume environment. Ability to make sound judgment calls. Ability to work well with minimal supervision. Ability to catch errors and correct the work of others. Superior client service skills. Ability to prioritize cases, manage caseload and other tasks (i.e. projects, company management responsibilities, etc.). Ability to meet deadlines and goals. Debt Finance Paralegal The candidate will assist the attorneys with all aspects of leveraged finance and private equity transactions, as well as corporate acquisition and sales transactions. Will be drafting officer certificates, board and shareholder resolutions and side letters; conducting lien searches and preparing summaries; ordering and reviewing certificates of good standing and corporate charters; preparing UCC filings; drafting closing agendas and organizing closing documents; tracking and organizing signature pages; coordinating closing mechanics; preparing and delivering closing binders; and, assisting with Blue Sky filings. entity formation; ongoing corporate maintenance; drafting board minutes and maintaining minute books. Communicates, corresponds and interacts with clients and outside entities, such as, government entities, expert witnesses, vendors, corporations and other law firms to gather information or data. Serves as factual resource on cases and demonstrates knowledge of case documents. Complies with department and firm administrative procedures and policies. Assists with department projects as needed and performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Paralegal Manager. Responsible for billing 1600+ hours of client-related projects and other credited work. Understands ethics of position including ethical rules in regards to confidentiality, billing and client representation and advocacy. Collaborates effectively and professionally with clients and all levels of personnel, including attorneys, coworkers and administrators.
