Trust/Estates Paralegal The candidate will prepare legal documents such as probate pleadings, deeds, stock/bond transfer documents, wills, trust agreements and powers of attorney for review, approval, and use by attorney. Prepares federal and state estate tax, fiduciary income tax, gift tax returns and individual income tax returns for review by attorney. Assists in any audit of same. Assists in the execution of estate planning documents and maintains associated client files. Collects, values and inventories real and personal property for estate planning. Tracks, maintains and accounts for all receipts to and disbursements from the client estate or trust in format required by Probate Court. Opens and monitors guardianship accounts including annual accountings and tax returns. Handles client telephone calls and requests. Researches and analyzes law sources such as cases, statutes, legal articles, regulations and legal codes. Senior Paralegal The candidate assists lawyers, performing a variety of management functions and factual investigations. Performs legal tasks that require significant independent judgment and may have the responsibility to supervise and train project assistants and paralegals. Supervising partner(s), practice group chair(s), lawyers, Director of Administration, Firmwide Director of Paralegals, Paralegal Manager, paralegals, and external clients. Examines, organizes, analyzes, and summarizes information relating to particular questions and organizes the communication into a logical and usable work product.
