Legal Secretary - Corporate and Securities Duties: Perform work at the direction of the assigned attorneys in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group. Work includes document production, drafting correspondence, preparing documents, scheduling appointments, setting up meetings, opening and managing client files. Also, requires frequent contact with clients. Prepare routine correspondence, memorandum and legal documents via multiple sources. Answer phone calls and assist clients in communicating with the attorneys. Maintain attorneys' calendars. Establish and maintain appropriate files and records. Close files at completion of cases. Make arrangements for meetings, conferences and travel. Enter time into the billing system. Periodically request pre-bills and statements for billing purposes and prepare statements for signatures to send. Maintain relationships and contact with clients. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree, preferred 3+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferred. Experience supporting attorneys who practice Corporate & Securities Law, preferred. Advanced in Microsoft Office. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Perform general secretary duties (dictation, correspondence, handling of mail). Prepare guardianship paperwork, scheduling court hearings for minor s files. Proofreading and make grammatical and spelling corrections on legal forms. Schedule client calls. Prepare correspondence in support of the work of Legal Assistants (loss of consortium and other form letters). Back up clerical support for assistants (mail, copying, faxes). Perform other duties within the employee s training and skills as directed by Core Leader. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Display true passion for client and community service. 1 year previous Legal Secretary experience in a law firm or comparable industry experience. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate professionally, verbally and in written form with clients. Ability to work independently without regular direct supervision.
