Legal Secretary The candidate will be responsible for assisting 3 attorneys in all areas of legal operations and administration. DUTIES will include: Preparing legal documents and correspondence including, basic and complex pleadings, creating documents, basic and complex discovery to parties and non-parties, and knowledge of real estate documents and real estate transactions, purchase agreements, loan documents and survey review. Assisting attorneys with preparations for hearings and trials including preparing exhibits, communications with court staff, other attorneys and their staff, our clients and potential witnesses. Additionally, assistance with real estate closings, preparation of real estate closing documents and communication with financial and lending institutions. Meeting and/or communicating with clients to assist with the completion of discovery and other case related matters as needed, e-filing documents with courts, as well as other litigation/administrative support functions and responsibilities as needed and required. Requirements: Must have 5+ years of litigation and real estate experience in Indiana. Must be a critical thinker and creative problem solver; Professional demeanor and positive communicator; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Excellent typing skills and computer literacy, including a solid understanding Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel applications; Be organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task; Highly motivated with the ability to manage own time and tasks effectively. Litigation Legal Secretary The candidate will handle complex and specialized secretarial and clerical support activities related to the specific work and function of the timekeeper(s) in a timely and accurate manner. Originates correspondence as directed and assumes other responsibilities including, reviewing and routing incoming correspondence, scheduling appointments, creating and maintaining files and indexes, screening and routing telephone calls, and receiving and directing clients, preparing expense reports, as well as entering timekeepers as required. Develops and maintains well-organized and timely client files, resource materials and administrative files. Schedules and confirms appointments in a proactive manner. The candidate must have a High School Diploma. Should have 1-3 years of legal secretarial experience. Must possess the ability to learn specialty law terms i.e. real estate, environmental litigation, etc. Must be able to handle many priorities at one time, work well with others and have excellent communication skills.
