Assist in the negotiation of terms of engagement where requested. Assist in drafting engagement letters and editing letters drafted by other; track engagement letters. Assist Professional Responsibility Attorneys and/or partners with drafting materials/correspondence for clients. Review and draft the firm's response to client-provided compliance and risk-related audits and questionnaires. Assist in drafting responses to risk-related topics in RFP submissions. Answer queries from professional staff across the firm, including, for example, secretarial staff and Business Development professional queries concerning conflict checks and processes. Manage the Akin Gump Academies including logistics and agenda. Collaborate with the Director of Attorney Development to design content and programming. Keep abreast of trends in professional development for attorneys, and evaluate seminar content and presenter effectiveness to ensure efficient delivery of content and attorney interest on topic. Promote internal and external training and development opportunities to the firm s attorneys and encourage attendance. Manage the firm s Training & CLE Database. Supervise assigned department employees. Liase with Human Resources to identify synergies with Business Services training and development programming, with the goal of increasing efficiency with similar programming. In collaboration with the Director of Attorney Development, support the firm s non-partner lawyer evaluation process including roll-out and communications, responding to practice management needs, and review and reporting of evaluation content. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree and/or experience in instructional design or adult learning. 4+ years experience in professional development or training in a law firm or other legal or professional services organization. Experience with professional development program design and implementation. Ability to read, write and speak English. Familiarity with California, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC CLE requirements.
