Experience the prestige and challenge of Fortune 500 companies including dot coms, while enjoying the sunny lifestyle of the Southwest at this very busy, larger firm. Well-reputed in intellectual property, civil and securities litigation and corporate transactional practices, it is always striving towards excellence and professionalism in its associates, and actively encourages new associates to delve into responsible roles as soon as possible. Ready to meet the challenge? The associates here are some of the happiest associates in Phoenix and truly seem to enjoy the work that they do. We do not need to tell you that as a very successful Arizona firm the people here do appear to work very hard and we hate to say it but we will: Many are working New York type hours. The firm also has been criticized in many respects for its lack of diversity; however, we do not believe that this is a serious problem because the firm's recent hires have all been very diverse in our opinion. The firm also receives very high scores for the treatment of associates by partners and there does appear to be a very good relationship here between associates and partners with associates feeling they are part of the mix to a great degree and respected by partners. Most associates at this firm would much rather stay with the firm than switch firms. In our book this is a good sign.

Run reports through case management software to inform attorneys of upcoming case expiration deadlines and need for extensions or other filings. Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of client matters. Conduct web searches for corporate web sites/articles and Secretary of State web sites, convert them to PDF, and upload to DMS. Qualifications: AA or BA degree preferred. Paralegal Certificate a plus. A high school diploma and 1+ year of related work experience, or equivalent. Paralegal Assistant or legal support experience preferred. Practice group-specific experience preferred. Superb organizational, analytical and communications skills a must. Ability to establish effective working relationships with Firm lawyers and staff, client personnel, and other professionals. Floater Legal Secretary

Title : Floater Legal Secretary

Location : California - Costa Mesa
Refer to Job # NJPM738940

This is one of the largest firms in the State of California. We met a hiring authority of this firm for lunch recently, and because this individual did not know us, we were seated at the table next to them. We did not talk to them for over an hour of waiting time, until we discovered that the hostess had forgotten to seat us together, and had seated us a table apart. Needless to say, we both got a good laugh out of that. This firm is very strong in most of its practice areas, including litigation, labor and banking work. Some of the more distinguished litigators in the State of California call this firm their home. The management of this firm is also awfully good and has managed to stay small despite the proliferation of massive management committees at other large law firms. Associates at this firm also seem to fraternize together quite well. One recently held a "keg party" at his home for other associates and there was a large and enthusiastic turnout. This is a real quality of life law firm, and the people here seem to enjoy their lives both at and outside of work. Not surprisingly, a firm of this caliber is able to attract top attorneys of all backgrounds and has managed to remain fairly selective in its hiring. We also like the diversity of this firm and its people. Finally, we think the associates working here tend to be quite "chatty," and the partners even seem this way too. We like chatting because we talk on the phone for a living so this firm gets thumbs up from us. This is the ideal spot for bright, ambitious attorneys with solid work experience and outstanding academic achievements.
Floater Legal Secretary The candidate will perform a variety of general duties, including: transcription, typing, editing and proofreading correspondence and legal documents, entering attorney time, billing, electronic filing with the courts, answering telephones, sorting mail, coordinating travel arrangements, expense reimbursements, interacting with clients and maintaining files. Must be proficient in all areas of litigation and with e-filing in federal and state courts. Should be proficient with administrative agencies (EEOC, DOL, etc.). Must be proficient in working with court clerks on filing issues. Should have ability to find case filings via PACER. Heavy litigation and strong communication skills are required.
