Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Providing administrative support to lawyers and staff. Effectively communicating with clients, courts, financial institutions. Answering phone calls, taking notes/messages and redirecting calls when appropriate. Facilitating the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and providing timely reminders. Preparing document packages upon conclusion of a client matter. Creating and maintaining systems for organization and case management. Drafting legal documents and spreadsheets, such as: contracts, letters, memoranda of law, legal pleadings, discovery demands and responses, and motions in court proceedings. Communicating with courts and other tribunals to ensure proper filing and service requirements have been met.
Qualifications: Proficiency with MS Office and ability to work with technology. Excellent writing skills. Outstanding time-management and typing skills. Ability to multitask. Paralegal certificate is desirable. Prior litigation experience a plus.
