Vision insurance Legal Assistant/Paralegal Law Firm Law Firm is currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team. The position requires someone who is a fast-learner, self-motivated and proficient on a computer. The Legal Assistant will work daily under the direction of the assigned attorneys, providing secretarial and administrative assistance while working in a team-oriented environment. This position also provides back-up secretarial assistance to others as assigned. Job Summary: The Legal Assistant will be responsible for examining, preparing and processing a variety of technical legal documents, e.g., complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas, and libels; proofreading and cite checking legal briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents; providing assistance to attorneys in trial preparation by conducting non-complex research of litigation, statutes, regulations and court cases; assembling exhibits, affidavits, and other legal documents; assembling, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files in compliance with internal policies; maintaining calendar of assigned active cases; tracking filing, hearing, and trials dates, and scheduling conference and interviews; arranging travel by preparing itinerary and securing transportation and hotel reservations; producing a variety of written documents and materials using a wide range of office software applications; answering phone calls and assisting attorneys with scheduling calls and monitoring emails.
