Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Organizing files and docketing (scheduling) events. Filling out legal forms. Drafting letters and simple court documents. Drafting documents by customizing standard forms. Writing reports and legal documents. Making thorough research about laws and judicial decisions, about current as well as past cases. Helping attorneys prepare cases for hearings. Assisting lawyers in the courtroom. Communicating with clients with updates and gathering information. Reviewing pending legislation. Drafting motions and other court documents. Preparing discovery and responses to discovery demands. Back up for Legal Assistant, including. check e-filing, update files, contact clients, answer phones, and schedule. Meeting with clients to review discovery responses. Qualifications: Completed a course of study offered by a college or university specifically for paralegals and will possess a certification as a trained paralegal. Should have 3 years of paralegal experience. Must have experience in a personal injury law firm or otherwise in the field of personal injury. Experience in the area of first-party insurance claims is also highly preferred, and candidates with this background may be given preference. Prior experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant is also pertinent. Fluency in Spanish.
