Immigration Attorney (Senior) Duties: Act as key liaison, between the different immigration authorities and clients, communicating effectively and timely in each process; in person, via telephone, mail and email. Represent and file documents before Court, USCIS, ICE, Consulate and the BIA, such as: Petitions, Visas, Motions, Waivers, Stays, Notice of Filing, Reconsideration motion, Motion to Appeal, among other processes. Represent clients during deportation proceedings and interviews before Immigration Court, USCIS and ICE. Prepare witnesses and applicants for Individual hearings and interviews. Evaluate FOIAS and make recommendations to owner for further processes. Must be feel comfortable and confident representing clients before Immigration Court, detention centers and USCIS during hearings and interviews. Improve effectiveness of case management, office structure and organization. Conduct research and draft law memorandum to answer controversies. Review and analyze cases to ensure sufficiency of evidence and / or documentation, confirming readiness of cases for hearing and responsible for obtaining additional evidence, as necessary. Perform detailed and complex legal research and providing alternative approaches for immigration issue resolutions. Prepare cases in a team work setting and supervise the supporting staff. Qualifications: Must have 2+ years of experience in deportation and family immigration processes, as well, before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Shall possess emotional intelligence, persuasion skills, initiative, positive attitude, effective communication skills (spoken and written) and be able to solve conflicts effectively, as well as build rapport with clients. Must possess excellent verbal and written bilingual communication skills (in English and Spanish); be well organized, and loyal to the mission of the Firm. Must be willing to fly out of the state to represent clients, sometimes, in short notice. Should have in depth experience and knowledge in family and deportation immigration law processes and regulations. Look for the solution to clients legal needs and is self-motivated persuade the adjudicator with legal strategies (such as syllogism and analogy). Must be able to understand and represent clients during deportation, detention and immigration processes. Also, posses the ability to understand the client and family member s strong emotions, during the process. Must be interested in growing within the firm and align his/her interests with the firm's mission. PLUS: Experience Businesses immigration and is Florida Barred (Preferred requirement). State Bar admission required.
