Attorney of Counsel The candidate would be be providing support for litigation matters. The focus will be assisting in litigating labor and employment matters such as claims of discrimination, wage and hour claims, restrictive covenant disputes and, labor relations in state court, federal court and administrative agencies. Prepare draft letters, documents, legal memoranda and correspondence pertaining to various issues. Perform and draft and file litigation documents such as pleadings, discovery, motions, memos, briefs and correspondence. Perform analysis of wage and hour cases and prepare spreadsheets. Prepare, respond, research and draft motions, briefs and other legal memoranda. Conduct depositions. Prepare matters for trial and/or hearings and conduct trials or hearings or arbitrations. Prepare for and conduct mediations, settlement conferences. Attend state, federal court and administrative conferences as necessary. Additional tasks as needed. The candidate should have Juris Doctor Degree with civil litigation experience, (demonstrated experience or interest in labor and employment law preferred). Should have excellent writing skills. Must have superior organizational skills with an ability to handle, prioritize and complete numerous projects simultaneously. Should have strong presentation and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office suite and legal research is required.
