Paralegal The candidate will organize and summarize medical records and bills: managing documents, including the creation of spreadsheets and retrieval systems, Conduct legal research - medical, scientific, technical, product information, Organize medical examinations, Liaise with and interview experts, medical personnel, law enforcement officers, Communicate with insurance carrier and opposing counsel, Organize and summarize depositions, Attend site, accident, or vehicle inspection, Prepare medical chronologies and medical expense itemizations, Review damage information and calculate damages, Create and maintain damage summaries, Prepare and compile discovery responses and objections for both State and Federal Court: coordinating the collection, review and production of documents and respond to discovery requests, Prepare and send out discovery requests for both State and Federal Court, Prepare motions and demand letters, Prepare settlement proposals and statements, Obtain reductions on medical bills from providers, Trial preparation including witness preparation and exhibit lists: compiling information and, preparing statistics, charts, graphs and other summaries to detail the findings, Assisting with the preparation, filing and service of pleadings, Acting as liaison among all parties including court or other neutrals for scheduling and sharing information, Bachelor's Degree are required. Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience, 5-6 years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm, Significant experience in responding to and propounding discovery in Both State and Federal Court, Significant experience in e-filing legal documents, motions and petitions, Experience drafting, cite-checking, and correcting legal briefs (trial and appellate), Experience managing medium to large-scale document productions, Proficiency with Document Review Software, Working knowledge and competency with case management software, Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software, Excellent organization skills, Attention to detail, Legal research and investigation skills, Ability to follow direction and procedures, Strong written and oral communication skills, Must be a team player and work well with others, Must attend work as scheduled.
