Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal DUTIES: Calculating, calendaring and complying with discovery deadlines, trial order deadlines and attorney meetings. Complete discovery early without the need to request extensions on deadlines. Meet trial deadlines and attorney deadlines. Document Client Profiles or other case management software. Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, trials and client meetings. Ensures attorney has everything needed before, during and after hearings depositions and attorney/opposing counsel meetings. This includes but is not limited to use of Lexis Advance, making copies for responsive pleadings, doing mailings, scanning, editing, filing, and tracking and logging expenses from out of office meetings into the client management system. Organizes and prepares trial boxes/trial notebooks, evidence, prepares exhibits. Uses Adobe Acrobat to redact and prepare exhibits, pleadings, and court filings. Prepares case summaries and materials for mediation conferences, pleadings, monitors calendar for when discovery responses are due from opposing counsel and prepares motions to compel as needed. REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of legal experience. Experience in Personal Injury litigation. Experience in the use of the e-filing portal; drafting complaints, motions, orders, affidavits, and letters. Experienced in scheduling depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings etc. Highly experienced working with Adobe Acrobat. Experienced at maintaining a complex calendar using outlook for calculating deadlines and dates for trial orders, depositions, hearings, mediations, client meetings etc. Outstanding interpersonal and telephone skills. Positive, upbeat personality and an ability to remain calm under pressure. Must be able to work quickly and accurately while meeting deadlines. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multitask and prioritize in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities. Must be able to work in a team environment. Previous experience in a fast paced and high volume personal injury law office preferred. Should have a working knowledge of law office procedures and local court rules and procedures for Volusia, Seminole, Flagler, Osceola, and Orange counties.
