, aPLC is Seeking Experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant, aPLC is looking for an experienced paralegal or legal assistant to join their San Luis Obispo Office. The ideal candidate must have prior legal experience in Family Law and Trust litigation and have strong technical proficiency in legal office programs such as MS Word, Excel, Adobe, DocuSign, Nitro, Westlaw, CFLR Propertizer, Clio Manage, and other related programs/software. Job Description The paralegal/legal assistant will provide support to attorneys and other staff while performing a variety of duties, including: * Preparing pleadings and judicial council forms under attorney supervision for E-filing with California courts * Complying with local Court Rules * Calendaring and monitoring deadlines for the filing and service of legal documents * Transcribing correspondence and legal documents * Preparing and responding to discovery requests * Recording attorney billing entries * Communicating with clients, court staff, experts, and opposing counsel's staff via email, telephone and mail * Answering phones/emails and processing office mail * Scheduling, coordinating and confirming Court dates, depositions, meetings, travel, Court Reporters and expert testimony * Managing family law cases from beginning to end * Preparing and organizing hearing and trial exhibits Qualifications * Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail * The ability to organize assigned work depending on deadlines and priorities * The ability to adapt quickly to changing deadlines and interruptions * The ability to comport oneself with integrity and confidentiality * Professional demeanor and dress * Strong technical proficiency in legal office programs such as MS Word, Excel, Adobe, DocuSign, Nitro, Westlaw, CFLR Propertizer, Clio Manage, and other related programs/software * A license to drive in California and reliable transportation to travel to Courthouse, Clerk Recorder's Office, etc. * Paralegal Certificate or Degree * In compliance with B&P Code Section 6450 * Associate's degree (preferred) * 1 year of paralegal experience (required) * 2 years of Microsoft Office experience (preferred) Pay and Benefits This is a full-time position with a salary that is commensurate with your experience and is negotiable.
