Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate's main areas of practice requiring assistance are estate planning, probate, guardianship, civil litigation, and family law. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the organization and maintenance of case files from start to finish. Competitive compensation based on experience and fit. Responsibilities: Draft legal documents such as estate planning documents, probate, guardianship, and civil litigation filings; Create and maintain physical and electronic case files; Facilitate the meeting of attorney's deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders; Communicate with clients to answer questions and keep clients informed of the status of their file; Communicate with court staff, law offices, and other third parties; File through the Florida Courts Efiling Portal; Search Court and Official Records. Should have (2) years of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal at a Florida-based firm. Experience in estate planning and probate required. Experience in civil litigation and family law a plus. College degree preferred but not required.Experience with Westlaw Form Builder a plus. Experience with MyCase a plus
