Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant, Part-time Duties: Work in their litigation department the specializes in criminal law, family law, contracts, general civil litigation and bankruptcy. Responsible for fielding phone calls, receiving and directing visitors. Typing business correspondence and transcribing dictation Prioritizes assignments and meets specific projects deadlines. Reviews and edits documents for accuracy and arranges for timely filing of documents Prepares check requests and reimbursement requests. Assembles, organizes and prepares documents for filing into filing system. Coordinates schedules, arranges meetings and reserves conference rooms. Processes mail: reviews and routes incoming mail; prepares and processes outgoing mail, arranging for specialized mail or messenger services as required Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: 1+ years experience as an administrative assistant. 1+ years reporting with Microsoft Office. 2+ years experience writing business correspondence. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have excellent computer, communication and written skills. Detail orientated. Paralegal certificate/associates degree or prior experience in law or legal fields preferred. Preferred: knowledge of local and state or provincial rules regarding pleadings and discovery formats, deadlines and filing requirements; be familiar with court structures, vendors and other legal resources; and have basic knowledge of legal terminology.
