Family Law Paralegal Responsibilities: Handle some basic administrative tasks, which include: Opening files. Answering the phone. Maintaining and organizing files. Keeping deadlines and calendars. Prepare witnesses and matter materials for case preparation. Assist in preparation of documents/pleadings. File various documents at the courthouse. Act as a liaison between clients and attorneys. Draft legal documents. Conduct legal research and conduct client interviews. Attend court and depositions if required. Confer with colleagues with specialties in appropriate areas of law to establish and verify basis for legal proceedings. Be timely, courteous and respectful of clients and staff.
Qualifications: Previous experience as a Estate Planning/Probate paralegal. Ability and experience working with: MS Word, MS Excel, Computer Databases. Technologically savvy. Professional appearance. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Strong organizational skills. Strong multi-tasking skills. Very efficient. Interest in working with people and interacting with clients. Can handle a fast paced environment without becoming stressed. Desire to work in a law firm and grow with the company.
