Legal Secretary The candidate will undertake a variety of administrative and clerical tasks in various practice areas, including personal injury litigation, business, real estate, family law, juvenile proceedings, discrimination cases and estate planning. Meeting with clients and keeping them informed of their case status. Preparing court forms, pleadings and supporting documents for attorney review. Reviewing and drafting correspondance to opposing parties, courts and attorneys. Scan, save and organize documents to the firm's Document Management System. Update case status, track important court dates and deadlines and process referrals. Fluent in Cape Verdean Creole or Portuguese required. Office experience is strongly preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel programs. Should have 1 year of experience working in a law firm setting.
