Family Law Paralegal The candidate will maintain a professional appearance and positive persona at all times. Will calendar and continuously manage hearing dates, case deadlines, and to-do items through case management software (Amicus Attorney). Coordinate and schedule client meetings and attorney telephone conferences. Review and prepare financial disclosure documents. Gather, organize, and serve discovery and other pertinent documents. Draft, proofread, edit and revise: contracts, pleadings, motions, cover sheets, and correspondence. Frequent communication with clients, opposing counsels offices, and Wake County Family Court representatives by e-mail and telephone. Help prepare clients and clients files for mediations, depositions, and court hearings. Prepare trial exhibit notebooks. Prepare pleadings index binders. Enter your own billable time into billing system (Timeslips). Handle confidential internal and external matters. Answer incoming calls as needed to assist the Office Administrator. Accept and process client payments as needed to assist the Office Administrator. Process incoming mail and e-mail as needed to assist the Office Administrator and various other duties as assigned. The candidate should preferably have Bachelor s Degree. Must have Associate s Degree. Certificate from an ABA-Certified Paralegal Program is desired. Must have 3+ years of paralegal experience (family law experience preferred). Should have strong proficiency in or ability to quickly learn the Tenth Judicial District Family Court Rules, as they pertain to calendaring, procedural motions, and financial disclosures. Should have excellent writing and communication skills. Must have experience in the use of time keeping (Timeslips) and case management software (Amicus Attorney). Must possess excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat (proficiency with QuickBooks preferred).
