Part-time Junior Legal Assistant / Paralegal The candidate will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the law firm, including providing a broad spectrum of legal services and administrative support to the legal team and carrying out administrative services to enhance office effectiveness. Prepare legal correspondence and other documents for attorneys and provide legal administrative support. Manage legal documentation and correspondence in a paper or electronic filing system and handle communication with clients in strict confidence. Meet with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to talk about case details. Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research. Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars to coordinate appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessary. Complete administrative duties such as making copies, filing, answering and directing phone calls, and greeting clients. Assist with accounting and billing and with other tasks as needed to implement and improve upon legal and/or administrative processes for more efficient workflow.
The candidate should preferably have a Bachelor's degree and/or an Associate's degree or equivalent certification/diploma with 2 years of relevant working and 1 year of Microsoft Office experience; computer literacy including working knowledge of case management software; ability to effectively multi-task, take direction and manage time-sensitive documents in a fast-paced environment; strong oral, interpersonal and written communication skills including proficiency in English. familiarity with the law, legal procedures, and protocols; ESILaw experience is a plus. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision and function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment; highly organized and detail-oriented, and have excellent administrative skills. Must have satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office and ability to work under pressure. a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, effective multitasking abilities, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.
