Salary $40,000 - $50,000 annually Paralegal and Administrative Assistant Law Firm is currently seeking a Paralegal and Administrative Assistant to provide legal, administrative and secretarial support to the attorneys, public benefit specialists and elder care coordinators. This position requires a strong focus in client relations and estate planning in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: * Associate's or Bachelor's degree with 1 - 3 years of relevant experience * Understanding of the basic characteristics of financial investments, e.g., annuities, life insurance, retirement accounts, stocks, etc. * Legal background with experience in complex estate planning, trusts, wills, real estate transactions and deed drafting; case management assistance for court proceedings, working knowledge of filing pleadings and the probate process * Excellent communication skills * Excellent organizational and time management skills * Attention to detail critically important with strong analytical skills * High level of skill with computer programs required: Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Lexis Nexis Time Matters preferred. Responsibilities: * Client Relations: Keep cases organized by establishing and organizing electronic files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorney. Keep clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress. Demonstrate a high command of business writing and well developed math skills. Organize, present, and participate in educational programs for clients and families. * Community Relations and Marketing: Represent the firm to financial institutions, government agencies and court personnel through frequent contact. Participate in professional organizations to enhance skills and communicate the firm's services. * General: Demonstrate exceptional client communication skills, a desire to help others and be comfortable working with older people, people with disabilities, their families and other professionals. Display high frustration tolerance with patience and kindness toward clients. Maintain highest standard of confidentiality for the firm's clients. Possess a professional appearance and demeanor. Work independently. Work a regular full time weekly schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 pm with one hour lunch. Valid Tennessee driver's license and reliable vehicle. Other duties as assigned.
