Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate will draft court documents, such as motions, affidavits, and subpoenas; and transactional documents, such as contracts, real estate documents, wills, and trusts. Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts in Indiana and Kentucky. Organize and track client files and important deadlines. Assist attorneys in the preparation of transactional closings, depositions, discovery, hearings, trials, and mediations. Communicate directly with clients regarding their representation. Maintain accurate attorney and case calendars and updating files with case status and information. Should preferably have a Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate with 1+ years of relevant experience; familiarity with legal procedures and terminology; proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong communication and organizational skills; Attention to detail; experience with legal research tools, such as Lexis/Nexis or Westlaw; excellent communication and writing ability, organizational skills, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills; the ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects.
