Legal Secretary Duties: Create reports for attorneys based on case specifications and attorney requests. Work with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions, and other case filings. Develop a case file indexing system that can be used as an active archive for all ongoing and completed cases. Monitor changes to government guidelines or regulations and submits reports on pertinent changes. Utilize existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases. Filing case documents in an organized manner for easy access. Communicate with potential clients or other attorney's offices via email, over the phone, or in-person. Making copies of legal documents. Managing office supplies and ordering replacements when required. Managing the calendar, billing technology, emails, and hearings. Will legal secretary/paralegal will work directly with our attorneys to prepare for upcoming cases, get involved in fact-finding projects, and be responsible for developing and maintaining an index system for all case files. As the firm continues to grow, the ideal candidate for this position is well organized, professional, responsible, proficient in attention to details and time management, a quick learner with technological systems, and committed to helping us meet all clients needs. Qualifications: Prior experience is needed in administrative law. Must be able to multitask, organize, and have a good eye for detail. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, lawyers, and other law firms. Written communication skills to write clearly and professionally Strong ethics when handling sensitive documents and when creating documents or sharing information. Must be versed in family law, preferably in Madison and Delaware County Indiana. Will need to be quick learning in billing system unique to the firm, outlook email, and calendars, have the ability to manage efficiently multiple cases at once and will need prior experience in a family law practice.
