Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for conducting client interviews and maintaining contact with the client. Assist lawyers in the preparation of transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences. Summarize depositions, testimony, and interrogatories. Conduct investigations and documentary research. Attend executions of wills, court/administrative hearings, and real estate closings. Creating and maintaining a case management database. Organizing and tracking files related to case documents and important transactions. Draft legal court documents, such as motions, affidavits, and subpoenas, and transactional documents, such as contracts, real estate leases, and trusts. E-File, Draft motions for attorney review, Conduct legal research, Prepare/respond to discovery, Calendar/maintain dates and Advise attorneys of upcoming dates/deadlines, etc. Join firm specializing in criminal, family law, personal injury, adoption, immigration, and general civil litigation. The candidate must have at least 10 years of relevant experience. Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies is required (Bachelor's degree is preferred). Excellent communication and organization abilities is essential. Strong research and report-generating skills are must. Industry recognized certification from organizations such as NALA or AACP is necessary. Experience in using legal database software is needed. National Federation of Paralegal Associations, American Alliance of Paralegals, The National Association for Legal Professionals (NALS) and National Association of Legal Assistants licenses are preferred.
