Associate Attorney The candidate will conduct extensive case related research into relevant laws and regulations. Study and identify case law and statutes that are applicable. Write well researched and supported legal briefs on complex issues of law. Assist and support litigation teams in large and complex cases. Develop effective litigation strategies. Utilize various applications and programs to update, prepare, and classify legal documents. Handle pretrial discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Proofread and edit legal documents along with case summaries, pleadings, and correspondence. Ensure the successful meeting of all deadlines while managing several projects simultaneously. Prepare subpoenas, motions, and discovery. Create and maintain a good rapport with the firm s clients and staff. Other duties as requested. Work closely with a partner on a daily basis providing updates and seeking guidance as needed with occasional projects from other attorneys as requested. The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law school. Active member in good standing of the Virginia Bar. Strong legal research, writing, and oral communication skills. Excellent legal research and writing skills required. Demonstrates the ability of complex research while maintaining detail accuracy, exceptional organization, and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Superior communicator (written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Appellate clerkship experience strongly encouraged.
