Paralegal/Legal Assistant Law Firm is looking for an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant to oversee the case management of 80-100 pre-litigation personal injury cases. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Job Responsibilities: - Contact personal injury clients to provide updates on the status of their cases, to gather documents from them that may be helpful in the presentation of their claims, and to determine when they have finished treatment for their injuries. - Contact insurance claims handlers to obtain information regarding coverage, liability decisions, and the availability of PIP/Medpay as well as to schedule recorded statements. - Review documents, including medical records and billing affidavits, to verify compliance with Texas law as well as to verify the accuracy and completeness of these documents. - Draft demands to insurance companies and bill reduction requests to medical providers. - Work alongside staff members dedicated to client intake and the procurement of medical bills and records. - Support the litigation staff in document drafting and in closing procedures. - Negotiate pre-litigation cases under the supervision of an attorney. Job Qualifications: - 3 or more years of experience working as a personal injury case manager, legal assistant, paralegal, or claims adjuster. - Self-motivated and able to perform the required tasks of the role without being prompted. - Assertive communicator who is responsive and respectful in contact with clients, adjusters, and medical providers. - Detail-oriented in reviewing documents including medical records, billing affidavits, police reports, photographs, wage records, and public records. - Proficient in Microsoft Word and efficient in document drafting (forms will be available). Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in Spanish is preferred, but not required. - Familiarity with case management software such as TrialWorks, Needles, or Neos is preferred. - Prior experience valuing and/or negotiating personal injury claims is a plus. - Established relationships with law firms, insurance companies, and/or medical providers is a plus.
