Paralegal / Legal & Litigation Assistant Candidate will provide support to the attorney, clients, and work as a team with other paralegals. Will handle all types of civil cases including: Accident & Injury, Med Mal, Employment, and Construction. Will conduct intake interviews of new clients, set up new case files, prepare and send out settlement demands, answer and make phone calls to clients, opposing law offices, courts adjusters, and others. Will negotiate settlements and bill reductions, request documents, and things related to the case, such as police reports, and medical records. Will include, scheduling hearings, deposition, and other case matters keeping files updated, document files with actions taken, maintain computer and paper files, and prepare cases for trial. Workspace tidiness is a must. Will have keen organization skills, be familiar with litigation, dependable, able to prioritize, work independently, or with others, have excellent written, verbal and computer skills. Must also be proficient in E-portal and CourtMap filing. Must have good grammar and writing skills as will have to draft letters, emails and motions, and other writings.
