Paralegal Responsibilities: Works on personal bodily injury litigation cases, both state and federal, from start to finish. With assistance of attorney, prepares complaint, summons, all discovery requests, and responds to all discovery requests, deems what motions are required as to answers & affirmative defenses, discovery answers/responses & issues; drafts what pre-trial motions are needed. Deals with witnesses and clients; obtains affidavits/statements; prepares trial notebook & PowerPoint presentation. Has authority to speak with judges and/or judicial assistants; handles calendaring of hearings, depositions, client conferences, after conferencing with Attorney. Responsible for advising attorney & client of the litigation status and notifying of calendared dates. Organizes entire file and exhibits for use at jury trial. Sits in jury trial w/attorney and coordinates witnesses.
Qualifications: Must be a Notary. Self-starter needed for small Plaintiffs boutique litigation office in Beach. Must be organized, affable, be able to work with others and opposing counsel, and dedicated to helping people; must be able to handle civil litigation cases, both state and federal, from start to finish.
