Estate Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for providing legal support and services on a wide variety of legal matters related to estate planning and administration for a growing Estates & Trusts department. Will be drafting estate planning documents and preparing for signing. Preparing internal asset lists, analyzing bank and business records, identifying trust and non-trust assets, and identifying title and character of assets. Meeting and communicating with clients and client advisors. Drafting petitions and the supporting documents for probate, ancillary probate, and trust administration. Managing administration of estates and trusts, including preparation of inventories and accountings, petitions for attorney fees, and valuation of assets. Assisting with collection and distribution of decedent s/estate assets by contacting banks, brokerage houses, and appraisers. Maintaining client files and preparing materials for client meetings. Calendaring and maintaining critical deadlines for estate and trust administration cases in electronic calendar system. Electronically scan and property categorize/name documents; and working closely with attorneys and staff in all aspects of the client matter. Must have 2+ years of standard paralegal skills or similar experience preferred. Strong legal writing skills. Strong communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and practice management software. Must be able to work in a digital environment. Must be willing to learn and take direction, and work in a team setting. Interest in tax and basic accounting knowledge is not required, but is a plus.
