Associate Attorney The candidate must be able to handle a wide variety of insurance defense matters. The candidate should have experience litigating in New Jersey and New York state and federal courts. Familiarity with court rules and procedures, as well as the ability to draft discovery, pleadings and motions is required. Excellent research, writing and analytical skills also required. Independently manage a caseload including litigation and insurance defense matters, working cases from beginning to end. Handle depositions, motions and court appearance for partners on certain matters. Communicate with insureds and carriers to provide status reports. Handle all pleadings and motion practice in personal injury defense matters. Should have JD from an accredited Law School. Actively licensed to practice law and in good standing in the States of New Jersey and New York. Experience with depositions, discovery, motion practice, insurer reporting and court appearances is required. At least 2 years of substantive experience in insurance defense matters is required. Prior settlement negotiation experience preferred. Experience with legal systems such as LEAP preferred. Superior oral and writing communication skills.
