Senior Paralegal The candidate will provide support to 3 attorneys and 3 staff members as necessary. Work under the direct supervision of the firm, the Senior Family Law Litigation Paralegal follows the instruction of the attorneys. Will have substantial responsibility in the handling of all assigned cases within Tarrant, Denton, Dallas, and/or Collin counties. Complete assigned tasks in Clio each day. Scan and save pertinent emails and/or documents to the network, as received. Document in Clio each time you speak with a client or anyone collateral regarding a client's matter. Manage all discovery deadlines and oversee all family law cases. Report to the managing attorney of any issue resulting in an inability to complete a task assigned. Attend weekly case meetings on Monday afternoons. Collect payment for any outstanding retainers/invoices as needed. Answer the phone if the legal assistant is away from their desk. Communicate with staff and clients in a respectful and friendly manner. Support entire staff and attorneys. Conduct yourself in a professional manner. Maintain an organized workspace in a confidential environment. Calendar court dates, deadlines, or client meetings in Clio. Communicate with clients regarding the status of their cases. Prepare family law matters for hearing, deposition, mediation, and/or trial. Conduct and manage all discovery and discovery deadlines. Prepare all family law pleadings/documents for review. Coordinate and Prepare attorneys for all mediations and depositions. Conduct legal research and draft briefs. Attend hearings and trials with attorneys as necessary. Bill no less than 6 hours each day. Enter billing daily in Clio. Gather and interpret data dealing with problems and solutions. Make or suggest non-routine decisions on a regular basis dealing with highly complex, technical, and/or controversial issues that impact many programs and agencies. The candidate must have Paralegal Certificate and/or College Graduate, Board-certified preferred with 5 years of experience in Family Law in the State of Texas; excellent written and verbal communication skills; outstanding interpersonal skills. Must work independently and efficiently; handle litigation with supervision; interact with staff, members of the public, and court officials in a friendly manner; seek solutions that balance both legal and policy considerations, and manage multiple projects efficiently; be punctual. Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
