Unlawful Detainer Attorney The candidate will be responsible for drafting, filing, and serving summons & complaints. Drafting, filing, and serving answers or responsive pleadings. Filing documents with Superior Court. Conducting discovery (written and depositions). Drafting motions and oppositions. Appearing in court. Preparing documents and exhibits for trial. Communicating with opposing counsel and clients. Handle and manage cases from the filing of the complaint, through discovery and motion stages, through trial stages, until the verdict. The candidate must have civil litigation experience. Should have civil litigation experience (i.e. serving and filing court documents, pleadings, and motions in California Superior Court and conducting discovery), have strong legal research and writing skills, and be comfortable drafting and arguing motions. Familiarity with Unlawful Detainers, housing laws and regulations, and insurance defense is a plus.
