Paralegal Duties: Juggle a variety of tasks such as database management, probate administration, drafting correspondence, file organization, as well as other paralegal and administrative tasks as needed. Will get involved in projects at various levels of complexity depending on the motivation and multi-tasking ability of the successful candidate. Main focus of day to day tasks will be to assist in the various trust and estate services provided to our clients. Will maintain the records of our clients legal documents, thereby requiring the highest level of accuracy and trustworthiness. In conjunction with the Company s estate tax accounting and consulting services, will prepare tax-related spreadsheets, request information for clients and generate draft tax returns. Will become involved in the Family Office services practice, functioning as a Junior Financial Accountant, will be available, as needed.
Qualifications: An entry level position that requires the understanding and application of basic legal and accounting principles. Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must. Must have the ability to manage and execute a project, while seeking assistance from other resources. An interest in estate administration paralegal responsibilities with the desire and ability to grow that knowledge through practical work assignments is necessary. Must also have strong analytical and mathematical skills especially with regard to tax calculations. Proficiency in Excel and Word are required, while experience with WordPerfect and Timeslips is preferred. The high degree of confidentiality required by this position necessitates the individual pass a pre-employment drug test and a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
