Part-time Probate & Guardianship Paralegal / Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Creating contacts and matters in Clio. Drafting pleadings for matters from template library. Filing pleadings and other documents with the clerk, either electronically or via US postal mail. Preparing, sending, and receiving written correspondence via postal or e-mail. Preparing inventories and accountings for probate and guardianship matters. Calendar management: scheduling client meetings, hearings, deadlines, and other events. Case/File management: ensuring matters, case files, and electronic file database are organized and updated. Document management: converting various document file formats to PDF, scanning, review and organization of large quantities of documents. Assisting with preparation for various court appearances. Greeting clients and visitors, both in person and on the telephone. Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Preferably with experience in probate and guardianship matters, to join a growing practice focused on estate planning, probate, and elder law Candidate must be proficient in MS Office and G Suite, and preference will be given to candidates who possess a working knowledge of, or prior experience with, Clio, Quickbooks, Power PDF, Florida's e-Filing Portal, and File & ServExpress. Must have experience maintaining and recording time entries and be familiar with client billing. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for extensive interaction with clients, other attorneys, and clerk and court staff. Must be process-oriented and able to work independently with keen attention to detail.
