Insurance Attorney The candidate must have at least 1 year of litigation experience. Will be responsible for managing a caseload. The duties consist of drafting pleadings, attend hearings, depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations etc.. Having proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat is preferred. Develop and carry out promising legal defense strategies by performing legal research, auditing for coverage issues, and drafting legal documents. Weigh all available options for successful insurance case first-party action and advise clients accordingly. Identify and apply insurance case arguments that lead to the best possible outcome for clients needs. Prepare all necessary legal documents for policyholders and cases, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and correspondence. Preside over administrative assistant and paralegal teams responsible for setting client meetings, reviewing billing, tracking time records, and completing various insurance law projects. Strong public speaking, decision-making, and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Current, active membership in local bar association is required. Must have some experience with legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis. Previous experience working in the insurance industry and prior insurance coverage experience or insurance defense litigation experience in an insurance law firm is required.
