Probate & Estate Planning Legal Secretary/Paralegal Willow Springs, MO 65793 From $10.30 an hour - Full-time Job details Salary From $10.30 an hour Job Type Full-time Number of hires for this role 1 Qualifications Bachelor's (Preferred) Wills, trusts, & estate law: 1 year (Preferred) Full Job Description Overview: Bustling small law firm is seeking an experienced probate and estate planning paralegal for full time employment to perform a broad array of probate and estate planning services, including: succession planning, wills, trusts, guardianship and conservatorships, and estate administration. High school diploma required, and college preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of Missouri probate and trust law, however, on the job training is provided. The ideal candidate is further capable of handling significant responsibility immediately and will show professionalism and a strong work ethic, regardless of experience level. An ideal applicant will have the ability to work independently, as well as, be able to collaborate in teams when necessary. The successful candidate will show that they have the appropriate qualifications and the desire to learn more. Job Duties: Assisting attorney(s) in day-to-day tasks, establishing or opening new files, and other administrative tasks; Document drafting, editing and proof-reading; Assist executor/trustee with the collection, valuation and distribution of assets; Prepare client memos and correspondence; Prepare court pleadings to open and close probate cases; Database management of all relevant client documents; Provide support to attorneys through all phases of estate planning and estate/trust administration; Maintain communication with clients, other law firms and the Courts. Skills and Personal Traits: Applicant must have highest respect for confidentiality and discretion; Applicant must have excellent organizational skills; Applicant must possess excellent spelling, grammar and writing skills; Applicant will have strong word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail platform knowledge; Applicant must be technologically-inclined, such that he/she can learn, understand and utilize multiple electronic filing databases and utilities; Applicant must be highly proactive and have a propensity for attention to detail; Applicant should have strong math, problem solving and analytical skills; Applicant must have a positive, upbeat attitude and maintain patience in dealing with difficult visitors/clients; Applicant must be dependable. Compensation: Compensation will be determined based upon the applicant's experience and education, along with any other items which warrant consideration. Compensation will be hourly compensation based upon a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, and paid weekly.
