Intellectual Property Paralegal The candidate will be reviewing and organizing files, reviewing docket for deadlines. Will be prioritizing workload to meet foreign filing deadlines and due dates. Will be preparing and reviewing appropriate correspondence from foreign associates and to clients and associates regarding new applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Assist in filing of U.S. and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents); Extensive knowledge of U.S. patent rules and procedures; knowledge of PCT and/or national laws of other countries. Will process Office Actions. Will file and assist in prosecution of design applications. Will track chain of title in U.S. patents and ability to perfect same. Will communication with the USPTO and relevant knowledge regarding the USPTO databases. Will be preparing, maintaining and updating reports for clients regarding status of applications and patents, including reporting filing receipts for applications, publication notices and forwarding patent certificates. The candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years Intellectual Property experience and have previous Foreign Filing experience, and strong computer and research skills. General knowledge of Intellectual Property filing and Prosecution rules/regulations is required. Experience using CPI docketing software is a plus. Should be detail oriented, highly skilled, flexible and have the ability to prioritize a busy workload. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required for successful achievement.
