Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant The candidate will provide administrative support to multiple attorneys, effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and partners extensive transcription, prepare and file various legal documents, such as appeals, motions, or petitions in state and federal court, open new files, including conflict checks and engagement letters, enter attorney time in time and billing system, maintaining attorney calendars, case list management and monthly reports utilizing Excel, create PowerPoint presentations, and facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and provide timely reminders.
The candidate should preferably have a High school degree or equivalent. Must have 3+ years of experience as a legal secretary and typing speed of 70+ words per minute. Proficiency in transcription and Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Adobe, and Excel is required. Knowledge of legal terminology and court system regulation is essential. Outstanding time-management and typing skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment are needed.
