Paralegal (Experienced Family Law) Duties: Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, correspondence, complaints, pretrial orders, affidavits, etc. under the guidance of a lawyer. Prepare correspondence and legal documents (including letters, pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, etc.). Aid in preparation for trials (ie: prepare exhibits, draft pleadings, subpoenas, etc.). Communicating with clients, courts and opposing counsel. Provide administrative support in a growing small firm setting. Organize case filing systems to ensure all documents are properly sorted and easy to locate, and other administrative duties as needed. Act as a witness for estate planning signing appointments. Manage attorney and case calendars and other time-sensitive actions. Preferred Qualifications: Vast experience with e-filing. Proficiency in MS Word and Adobe and comfortable learning new programs. Knowledge of MyCase and/or family law software is a plus. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with clients and firm staff. Must be friendly and engaging with clients on the phone and in person. The ability to manage one's workflow, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, small business environment.
