Attorney The candidate will join Workers Compensation Defense firm. Should have 0-2 years of experience. Although experience is preferred, candidates who demonstrate strong work-ethic with excellent communication and negotiation skills will be considered. A Juris Doctorate degree and California State Bar license membership in good standing is required. Will independently handle full to moderate caseload. Communicate with clients to provide timely updates/communications, information, legal advice and other services on legal and factual issues. Analyze complex legal and factual issues, including conducting legal research to formulate defense strategies on behalf of clients. Litigate, settle and negotiate cases-in-chief as well as liens. Prepare complex pleadings, written discovery, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies with autonomy. Conduct deposition of applicants and experts. Communicate with the court/judges, employers, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel with professional diplomacy and discretion. Review and analyze med-legal reporting, including ability to accurately rate reports and estimate exposure & potential liability.
